The publication of this catalogue is an outcome of efforts to develop a compendium of information on medicinal plants of the region relating to its conservation and utilization.
The catalogue is an exhaustive summary of available scientific data for 1789 species of medicinal plants in the Asia Pacific region, providing detailed information on the locations where these plants are conserved, how each plant is used in different countries, describing both traditional therapeutic applications, and what is known from its use in clinical trials. Additional material presented includes brief botanical description of each plant with graphic representations of certain plants for identification, and the common names used for the plants in the various countries.
