An erect, glabrous, reddish herb with opposite branches. Leaves lower opposite, uppersometimes alternate, oblong or narrow-elliptic, rounded or sub-cordate, usually obtuseor sub-acute; flowers reddish in dense axillary clusters, apetalour or petals minute.Fruits depressed globose, covered by calyx tube up to the middle. (India)
