Description
A shrub up to 3m tall; leaves ovate, 9-20cm x 7-15cm base, broadly cuneate, apexnarrowly acute or obtuse, margin serrate, petiole 1-5(-10)cm long; femaleinflorescence pedulous, 10-50cm long, thick, with a dense mat of crimson styles. Incultivation, usually var. sander (N.E. Br.) J.J. Smith is encontered, which has a morerobust habit, larger green, slightly cordate leaves, with longer petioles and longerfemale inflorescence.
