Description
A tree to 7m tall with low branches. Leaves alternate, 15cm x 6cm, oblong withnarrow cuneate bases and broad acute apexes; lamina glabrous. Flowers in bunches of3, hanging from trunk and older branches; stalks to 3cm longs; outer petals 3, spade-shaped, greenish-yellow, 5cm x 2cm; inner petals 3, same shape and colour, butsmaller; carpels numerous. Fruits, a syncarpium, 20cm x 12cm; skin leathery andcovered with soft, curved, 4mm long prickles; flesh white and pulpy with many blackseeds. (Indonesia)
