A shrub or small tree up to 5m tall; leaves oblong-lanceolate, 8-20cm x 3.5-4.5cm,with scattered minute rusty scales and sparsely scattered glandular dots, secondaryveins 10-14 pairs; inflorescence an umbellate raceme, terminal on branchlets; corolla4mm long, pinkish; fruit 7-8mm in diameter, sparsely striate and gland-dotted. Ardisiaridleyi occurs in lowland evergreen forest up to 1200m altitude; it is uncommon.(Malaysia)
