An erect, widely branched herb up to 150cm tall; leaves ovate-oblong-lanceolate, 3.5-10cm x 2-5.5cm, decurrent into the petiole 1-3.5cm long; flowers crowded towardsthe apex of the inflorescence, calyx 4.5-7mm long, corolla 2-3cm long, 4-8mm acrossat the mouth, ovary apically pubescent, otherwise glabrous or minutely gladular; fruit2-3cm long.
