Description
A small tree to about 8m tall with a thick crown. Leaves spirally arranged, to 35cmlong, compound with 10-18 pairs of leaflets; lamina to 8cm x 2.5cm, canescent withrounded base and broadly acuminate apex. Flowers, in clusters from the trunks andolder branches; sepals 5, greenish-pink, to 5,mm long; petals 5, deep-red, to 1.3cm x0.3cm; stamens 10; ovary superior. Fruits cylindrical, to 6cm x 3cm, faintly angledwith a smooth skin. Seed flattened. (Indonesia)
Sparsely branched tree, branches stiff, thick, upright; Leaves 7-19 jugate; Flowersusually in cauliflorous panicles, heterotristylous; petals free, 10-20mm long, red-purple; short stamens fertile; fruit slightly lobed, up to 10cm x 5cm; seeds lacking aril.(Malaysia)
