An evergreen tree with rough, dark-grey bark. Leaves thickly coriaceous, pubescentbeneath, broadly oblong, obtuse, base rounded. Flowers small, greenish-white inaxillay and terminal panicles. Fruits ovoid, or globose, black, stones hard.
