A small herb with thick, conical or ovoid corm. Flowers golden yellow, 1-3 on a veryshort main flower stalk. Calyx funnel shaped, tube very long, with 6 lobes. Stamenssix, shorter than the lobes, anthers yellow. Style thread like, much longer than thelobes. Capsule up to 4cm long, with recurved beak. (India)
