9-13m tall tree with ash-blakish brown colored rough bark. Leaves 7-18 x 5-13cm,broadly ovate, elliptic oblong or sometimes suborbicular, coriaceous, glabrous.Flowers creamy to yellow white or nearly white, in axillary as well as terminal cymes.Ripe drupes 1.5-2.5cm across, ovaoid or rounded, glabrous, bright yellow withpinkish tinge. (India) A small tree with slender, glabrous twigs and pubescent buds leaves simple, alternate,6-l0.5cm long, 4-7.5cm broad, broadly oval or clliptk-ovate, rounded at the base,obtuse or subacute at apex, entire or more or less coarsely sinuate-serrate in the upperhalf, glabrous on both sides, thin petioles 1.7-4.3cm long and slender; flowers regular,bisexual, white, in lax. divaricate. branched corymbs. pedicels short sepals 5, fusedinto a tubular-campanulatc, glabrous calyx, pubescent within, se very shallow, about1.5mm long; petals 5, fused into a funnel-shaped corolla, corolla-tube 4mm long,segments 3.5mm long, 2mm broad, oblong, recurved; stamens 5, hairy, inserted in thethroat of the corolla; ovary superior, globular, glabrous, 4 locular with a single ovulcin each loculus. style terminal, deeply divided, the branches again bipartite and linear;fruit a globular-ovoid drupe, 1.8cm long, with a nearly truncate, persistent calyx.stone 1-locular by abortions.
