An annual, belibile, parasitic herbaceous plant (Mongolia)
A leafless, twining annual with very sisnder, much branched, yellowish stems forminga tangled mass, parasitic on stems and leaves ofiow herbs and shrubs by means ofdiscs; flowers white, bisexual, about 3mm across, sessile or shortly pedicel'ed Inclusters of one to many;bracts 2mm long, 1.5mm broad, ovate, rounded at apex;sepals 5, orbicular, 1.5mm long. 1-1.5mm broad, connate, rounded at apex; petals 5,2.5mm long, 1.5mm broad, oblong, connate, companulate, with fimbriate scales at thethroat of the corolla just below the stamens;stamens 5, fused with the corolla-tubebetween segments, filaments 0.7mm long; ovary superior globular, smooth, 1mm long,1.5-1.7mm broad, 2-Jocular with two ovules in each loculus, styles 2, 0.5-0.7mm long,stigmas capitate; fruit capsules about 2.5mm in diameter, globose, divided into twolobes by a deep groove at the top, seeds rough and black.Flowers during April,November and December (Sri Lanka)
