An annual herb, up to 60cm high, with spreading branches. Leaves variable, ovate orelliptic, acute or rounded at the apex sometimes with reddish margins, glabrous.Flowers pink, borne in threes in lax, axillary, pedunculate spike, up to 12cm long;bracts and bracteoles persistent. Fruit globose. Seeds yellowish-brown. (India)
