A climber with 4-angled stems twining to the right and with broad-based prickles andunderground tubers. Leaves opposite or rarely alternate, broadly ovate or rounded,cordate, with a broad sinus having five nerves. Flowers unisexual, rachis of malespike winged. Fruits broadly obcordate. (India)
