A very large, twining shrub with long, glabrous branches leaves simple, opposite, 7.5-11.2cm long, 3.5-6.5cm broad, broadly ovate, rounded or subcordate at base, suddenlyacuminate, acute, paler beneath; petioles l.5-3.5cm long; flowers numerous, regular,bisexual, green or yellowish green, sweet scented, ‘in lateral, drooping, Iui1ibe1lcymes, p arising from between the petioles, 2.5-5cm long, slender, puberulous;pedicels very slender, 6-25mm long sepals 5, free imbricate, lanceolate, acute,glabrous; petals 5, fused. rotate, contorted, lobes 5mm long, broadly oval, obtuse,veined, overlapping to the right; corona-lobes large, fleshy, adnate to the upper part ofthe column with a fleshy tooth projecting inwards over the anthers anther tipsmembranous, broadly ovate-oblong, obtuse pollen masses oblong, attached to thepollen carriers by very short caudicles; ovary superior, of two distinct carpels,enclosed in the staminal tube with numerous ovules, styles 2, stigma I, united with theanth.ers and 5-angled; fruit follicles 7.5-cm long, slightly tapering to a blunt point,cylindrical, shallowly grooved, glabrous and dull yellow.
