Perenial herb (China) A glabrous, biennial or perennial tall herb. Leaves pinnate, ultimate segments long,linear. Bracts and bracteoles absent or few small liner, petals yellow, emarginated.Carpels ridged, ridges prominent subequal, furrows 1-vittate; carpophore 2-partite.Fruits oblong or ellipsoid. Seed somewhat dorsally compressed, inner face slightlyconcave. (India) An erect shrub 0.5 - 2m tall, with long leaves and grow as a stump. Each stumpusually consists of 3 to 5 stem. The hollow, groovy, and articulated green-blue stemsmells fragrant when it bruised. The position of leaves vary. (Indonesia) Deciduous tree; leaves 15-25cm Long, the leaflets 9-15, ovate to narrowly so, 2.5cmLong, 15-25mm Wide, acute to subobtuse, sometimes with a minute stipel at base,deep green, glaucescent and appressed-pubescent beneath; panicles 15-30cm Long,broadly pyramidal, with short appressed pubescence; flowers 12-15mm long, white toyellowish; calyx 3-4mm long, pubexcent, the teeth depressed 4-angled, short-villouson the margins; legumes stiped, loosely appressed-pubescent, glabrate, 5-8cm long,rather fleshy. -July l-Aug.
