Large decidious tree (China)
Tree, branches thick, grayish, armed with broad-based erect or slightly recurvedprickles; leaves 10-30cm Long and as wide, 5- to 9 lobes, the lobes acuminate,minutely toothed, soon glabrous on upper side, usually pale-brown curled-pubescent,especially on nerves beneath and with tufts of axillary hairs on the nerves on lowerside, truncate to cordate at base, the petioles 10-25cm long; inflorescence terminal onthe current year's shoots, glabrous or nearly so, the main axis very short and obsolete,the branches few to more than 10, 8-15cm long, spreading, with few umbels at theapex, the bracts 1-2cm long, caducous, the pedicels 7-10mm long; fruit globose, 4-5mm across; styles connate, 1.5-2mm long, rather slender, bifid at apex. -July -Aug.(Korea)
