A slender much-branched, diffuse, hairy herb. Branches rooting at the joints. Leavespalmately 3-5 lobed, irregularly toothed, stipules narrowly lanceolate. Flowers pink orpurple, sepals acute, shortly pointed; petals slightly notched. Fruits elongated capsules.(India) Tree with gray-brown branches, puberulent while young; leaves oblong, elliptic, orovate, 5-10cm (-15)Long, 2.5-6cm Wide, obtuse, or acute, entire or doubly toothed inthe young leaves, green and glabrous on upper side, puberulent on the imperessedmidribs, brownish pubescent on lower part of the midrib beneath, the petioles 1.5-3cmlong, puberulent; panicles terminal, 7-12cm long, glabrous, the pedicels 7-10mmlong; calyx deeply 4-lobed, 2-3mm long, the lobes lanceolate, acuminate; corollawhite, the tube 1-1.5 times as long as the calyx, the lobes linear-oblanceolate, 1.5-2cmlong, 2-4mm wide; fruit ellipsoidal, black, about 1cm long. -May.
