A small herb with 6-7 basal rosette leaves. Leaf-petioles to about 12cm long, leaf-blades ariable in size and shape, normally broadly ovate-elliptical, to 14cm x 10cmwith 5 longitudinal main veins and wavy margin. Inflorescences in spkikes of up to20cm long with numerous flowers on the upper half, sepals 4, elliptical in shape,petals 4, light green, stamens 4 with protuding whitish anthers, ovaries superior. Fruits,circumscissile capsules with several black seeds.
