An erect, glabrous, succulent herb with creeping, perennial, knotted rhizomes. Leavesusually 2, stout, stalked, orbicular-reniform, palmate, peltate with lobed segments.Flowers solitary, in the axile of the two leaves; creamy white, cup shaped. Fruitsoblong, elliptic, red on ripening. Seeds many, embedded in the red pulp. (India)
