Description
Rhizomes short and thick, with numerous stout fibrous roots; stems 10-30cm Long,often branched, usually papillose-puberulent above, sometimes pubescent; lowerleaves membranous, sheathlike, the normal cauline leaves alterante, deltoid-ovate, 3-10cmlong, petiolate, pinnately dissected, the ultimate segments lanceolate, glabrousor pubescent underneath; stipules small, lobed, green; flowers yellow, 3-4cm across;sepals several, ovate; petals longer than the sepals, 20-30, spreading, broadlyoblanceolate; anthers 1-2mm long; achenes puberulent, 3-3.5 mm long, on receptaclesabout 1cm long, the heads ovoid-globose; style short and recurved.
