Procumbent prickly shrub. Leaves alternate, irregularly lobed, prickly on the upperface and covered with minute stellate hairs on the lower. Inflorescence in axillarycyme of 2 - 5 nowers, pale violet. Berry globose, red when ripe; seeds numerous,kidney-shaped, yellow (Vietnam)
