Description
Deciduous tree with grayish bark longitudinally fissured when old; branchletsglabrous, green, sonetimes reddish; leaves alternate, broadly ovate to elliptic, 5-12cmLong, 3-8cm Wide, abruptly short acuminate,rounded to cuneate at base and slightlydecurrent above, white beneath, short appressed-hairy on upper side when young,persestent beneath, the lateral nerves of 5-8 pairs the petioles reddish, glabrescent,1.5-6cm long; inflorescence many-flowered, cymose, minutely puberulent; flowerswhite; calyx-tube with appressed white hairs; petals narrowly oblong, 4-5mm long;filaments about 5mm long, the anthers versatile; styles about half as long as thefilaments, the stigma capitate-truncate; fruit globose, black, 6-7mm across, the stonespitted at tip.
