A large, deciduous tree with tomentose young parts. Leaves opposite, broadly ovate,or orbicular-cordate. Flowers appear before the leaves. Males in lax lateral racemes;female flowers solitary on a long peduncle or raceme. Fruits 2-4 celled, fleshy,indehiscent, globose. Seeds ovoid, dark brown. (India)
