An erect, sparsely branched, perennial herb, finely downy with hooked hairs. Leavesimparipinnate; leaflets subcoriaceous, linear-oblong, apex acute, base rounded,blotched with white and glabrous above. Flowers purple, borne in fascicles alongdense cylindrical racemes, rachis and pedicles downy with hooked hairs; bracts large,concealing the buds, scarious, striate, ciliate. Pods glabrous, pale grey, 3-6 jointed,smooth polished, folded on one another. Seeds kidney shaped, reddish. (India)
