Description
A herbaceous plant with underground rhizome and mnay up right pseudostems.Rhizomes, about 3-4cm thick, bright yellow in colour when fresh with strongcamphoraceous odour. Pseudostem to about 1.5cm thick at the base and up to 2m tall.Leaves alternate and all in one plane, near linear with tapering tips and rounded base;to 35cm x 6cm and glabrous; sheath completely enclosing the stem. Inflorescence, asylindrical spike, to 15cm long on an equal length of bracts covered stalk, srisesdirectly from the rhizome bracts red-coloured with greenish margins and overlapped;flowers singly from bract-axil with trnslucent tabular calyxes, labellum tube 3cm longwith 3 lobes (Indonesia)
